Spider-Man 2 storyline was overall a great storyline and a smart direction to take the character, and a bonus with Insomniac is that they add and update the game months after adding DLC and new suits. Spider-Man learned how to mentor a younger Spider-Man, as well as take care and protect his villains that he once tried so hard to capture. Peter also battles with whether or not he has to kill his best friend or allow him to remain Venom. Peter eventually removes the symbiote Venom from his friend Harry, killing him because the Venom symbiote was the only thing keeping him alive.

big themes I found when playing this game was redemption, forgiveness, and teamwork. We see this in so many ways, from Peter needing redemption after he has fallen as well as needing Miles to Harry and Mary Jane to get rid of the symbiote. We also see the struggles Miles goes through and how he constantly needed his friends, uncle, mom and Peter for the challenges he faces both in his real life and while he's Spider-Man. We also see the Spider-Man villains fight for redemption including Martin Li, Sandman and even Lizard. Miles is challenged with letting Li go or killing him like he thought he wanted in the cage match they have for Kraven. Miles learns to let go and forgive Li for killing his father and in doing that they were able to work together to save Peter and turn the symbiote into the Anti-Venom.

Seeing Kraven killed made sense as he was sick and was searching for a true warrior, however it was still shocking because it felt like we didn't get enough time with Kraven. Venom ending on the other hand was predictable, but it did feel like we got a good chunk of time with the character, and we really saw the development of Venom. Miles being able to reject the symbiote was interesting and it made sense as he was aware of what the symbiote was really after and capable of, but it really showed his will power and how he is able to use the loved ones in his life to push through adversity.
